Hello Everyone! I just have to tell you I'm addicted.. to my iPad that is! Hahah seriously, this thing is amazing, I spend all day on it! I found 2/3 of my summer reading books for free and reading is so much easier on it. I just find time to read. Well just wanted to let you know my input incase any of you were looking into buying one. So today I decided to take pictures in outfits I've worn but never took pictures of. Hope you enjoy these! Please note that when I actually wore these out, my hair was in a better state hahah.

I'm not typically your shorts and t-shirt kind of girl. But when it comes to 3OH!3 t-shirts and acid-wash shorts, I'm all for it! I bought this shirt at the 3OH!3 concert here in my city. Just wanted to share that yes they were amazing, and yes, I will see them again whenever they return. 3OH!3 t-shirt from concert, Acid-wash shorts from American Apparel, Shoes from Nine West, Necklace from Forever 21

Next, I wore this to a formal party. However, I accidentally bought this dress a size to big which made it slightly uncomfortable. This, nevertheless, does not degrade its appeal. I still love it.

I wore this dress to another party (this one was semi-formal, however). I loved the strong shoulders. It felt like an 80s retro flashback.

Next, this is just an outfit I wore casually I think to go shopping. I bought this romper at Express and absolutely fell in love with it. It is super versatile. It also follows 2 trends: rompers and denim.

Last, but definitely not least, I would like to mention another recent obsession of mine. DOUBLE RINGS. I bought this one from an etsy shop and I am in love. It's not your typical hardcore ring, right? That's why i loved it!

This was at an all-girls reunion which ended up being really fun. It's kind of weird to go to all-girls kickback since I go to an all-girls school but I guess we've learned to survive without boys.

Happy Mother's Day!

Hello folks,
Today, as many of you most likely also did, I celebrated Mother's day. My mom is very sneaky and will search every corner of the house looking for her present and will open it before she can. For this reason, we get her last minute gifts. And when I say last minute, I mean the day of. So this morning, my dad, brothers and I went to the mall and bought her a gorgeous camel colored Hobo bag and a navy blue wallet. Stellar! Haha. I bought her a statement necklace from Anthropologie and my older brother bought her a Kat Von D eyeshadow palette. I had a great time at my uncle's house for lunch celebrating Mother's Day with my whole family except for a couple of cousins who are away in college. This is what I wore,

let's march into spring

Spring is honestly and probably my favorite season. Winter gets too cold to actually show off some outfits and summer outfits are extremely tedious (shorts, a top and sandals or a floral dress and a cardigan - need I say more?). For that reason, I LOVE spring. You can wear summer tops and dresses with blazers, jackets, and just layers in general to make them more interesting. Here in California, it's barely March and it already feels like August - which is great, don't get me wrong, but by mid-July I'll be sick of the outfits ;). I am extremely excited about the new trends I've been noticing for spring and summer. Gorgeous stuff. Anyways, here's an outfit I wore recently to a party. It was a formal party and I didn't have a dress so I just dressed up this floral one as a transition into the new season.

Here is another outfit I wore to a party. Gosh, are all my outfits from parties?! Hahah, well I do go to a private school where I wear a uniform so I guess I dress up on weekends when I go out. Wearing a white blouse from ANGL, White faux-leather jacket from Love Tree USA, silence + noise skirt from Urban Outfitters and Jessica Simson heels.

Anywho... Right now I finally got a chance to update my blog.. I am currently recovering from septoplasty which pretty much is a nose job for health reasons. Today I went to the doctor's to get some bandages and fillers removed and I seriously breathed correctly and nicely for the first time in my life. I'm in heaven - I can smell everything and I can breathe (I had a deviated septum that prevented me from breathing from one nostril). I hope you are all enjoying a lovely spring break.

Hello my darlings,
So I'm back! I apologize for the lack of updates. But finally I do have an outfit post for you! I wore this to a valentine's day party. I have had this denim dress lying around for a while and the weather just wasn't right. So I finally got the chance to wear it and got tons of compliments on it. I also just wanted to let all of you know that I have been keeping up with new york fashion week. and Wow. I'm so impressed and amazed by all of the designers' collections. I loved the play with textures at Cynthia Rowley. Jeremy Scott's fashion world inspired collection was amazing. Anna Sui's eccentric and bohemian hip clothing was also gorgeous. I was in awe of Diesel's edgy plaid, leather and grungy prints. Marc Jacobs was amazing as always. And last but not least, I adored the Sherlock Holmes inspired DKNY collection.

Hello Everyone! Sorry I've been on a bit of a hiatus, I just haven't had that many outings and I've had a heavy schoolworkload lately. However, I am not sure if I've mentioned this but I am very artsy. I am a painter, some of my paintings are in the backgrounds of my outfit pictures. Today, instead of an outfit picture, I am posting a sketch I made. I basically took the newest issue of Harper's Bazaar and sketched one of the pictures by Peter Lindbergh (one of my favorite photographers) in the Global Warming spread.

Hello Everyone! I hope everyone had a spectacular Christmas Break. Mine was very relaxing. New Years was pretty chill just hanging out at home with my family so there weren't any outfits or pictures worth sharing. However, I do have a quick outfit post for you! I wore this on one of my various trips to LA.

Makeup look of the day: Using mostly NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Gold and grey and black eyeshadows from my Sephora palette. I haven't forgotten about the makeup tutorial some of you wish for me to do - I just haven't had the time. When I get ready I do my eyemakeup in about 20 minutes, get dressed, fix the hair, and take pictures in about 10 minutes. So, I'll try to make the tutorial today because I haven't got much to do but I'm thinking it'll be easier in video. I'll edit it and only do one eye so it isn't as tedious. I'll post that as soom as I upload it to vimeo!

Hello Everyone! I am hoping everyone had a fabulous Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I hope Santa Baby brought you all of your desirables! I know I had a really fun Christmas with my whole family. This year, Christmas was at my aunt's restaurant (closed, so it was just the family) so it was really fun. She rented a karaoke machine which enhanced the ambience in the dining hall. Here are some pictures.

JINGLE BELL ROCK

Hey everyone! As promised, I am going to share some pictures of my Christmas tree with you. Every year my mom and I used to decorate it with the same old red and gold ornaments and ribbons. This year, I had an aha moment and thought of the color combination: green, gold, pink, purple, and red. Sounds crazy I know but it turned out amazing and makes the tree so lively and interesting. We bought a gazillion ornaments from 99 cents stores and grouped them together with ribbons and made about 20 big ornaments. I personally think the big ornaments are more interesting then just random small ornaments all over the place. I hope you like my tree.

In addition, I've been playing around with Christmas lights and my DSLR and came up with these pictures. Just thought I should share.

I also just bought this beauty which I've been craving for years. Lomo camera Fisheye2 bought at Urban Outfitters. The fisheye effect looks so cool. I'm still experimenting. It's so weird to take a picture and not be able to see what it looks like. I'll post scans of the pictures once I print them.

Is everyone enjoying their relaxing Christmas break? It's barely the first day and I am amongst the clouds. I'll probably spend vacation sipping tea, commenting blogs, watching Friends, and studying for finals (!).

Hello Everyone! My recent fashion excursion was a double party night. One party was a friend's formal quinceañera while the other party was my brother(who is 1 year older than me)'s best friend & his girlfriend(which is also a friend of mine)'s 17 party. As you can imagine, I couldn't decide. I love formal parties and most of my friends were invited to the quinceañera while it was just a few of us who were invited to the 'older kids party.' So, I decided to go to both. They were both so much fun and definitely worth it. However, one was formal and the other semiformal so I had to dress the outfit up and yet tone it down. Here's how I did it:

Hello Everyone! I recently attended a formal soiree. I love going to these events (which are pretty common in my city) because I get to dress up. Dresses are my ultimate favorite apparel piece. I love feeling feminine in a flouncy dress. For this particular event, I purchased this beaded ruffle dress at a clothing boutique similar to Forever 21 yet a little more high end. I fell in love with this dress and will definitely be worn later for LBD-purposes! The party was also really fun for pictures because there were some really cool masquerades. I recently bought this feather cape which I am in love with! It's edgy and out-there but looks amazing. Every single worker from Sephora said they loved it and some even went to Forever 21 right away to get the same feather cape.

Hey everyone! This is just a quick outfit post. I wore this to go shopping with my momma after she returned from her trip to Lebanon and Syria with my daddy. However, I ended up having issues with these shoes. The soles of my feet got red and swollen and I couldn't bear to walk after 4 pm.

I bought a couple things that I fell in love with. I bought a feathered cape from Forever 21 which I will later on wear and show you. I also found the most perfect leather nighttime going out chain clutch (long title, much?!) I used to have a cheap and ugly messenger clutch that I wore to go out or just my tiny LV but now I'm wearing this one from BCBGeneration everywhere, no joke.

Halloween / 80s REVIVAL

Sorry for the delay! This is what I wore on halloween. I took my idea/concept in mind and went to a vintage store in my city. They had absolutely every clothing era. I immediately loved this black corset with this pink zebra skirt, fishnets worn as sleeves, and lace tights. All topped off with frizzy, big hair, a huge pink bow, pearls, and look-at-me-COLORIFIC makeup. I'm not sure how my costume could be seen as scary, unless you believe and 80s revival to be scary (some people would!) But i love the 80s, I love the trends that are coming back.

i love edginess. i love being bold and glam. i wish more people in my town were as daring and that way i could try even bolder things (i definitely would). nonetheless, i try my best to be fashion forward, with my own sense of style. I wore this to a somewhat strange party (it was like in a parking lot, pff lame) but it was really fun. some people were in jeans and a top but i like to go all-out. i hate the whole "jeans with a top" idea of an outfit. don't people have any creativity? i love the idea of dressing up, even if its just to lunch with my mom, i feel more presentable and have so much fun creating outfits. i went edgy in this outfit, which i got some compliments on. i also am wearing my hair up recently which i used to never do. though, two days ago, i cut it, it's not like in this picture anymore. its to my shoulders and i got bangs again! hope you like.

I am such a fan of going dress shopping. I am always just wishing for the occasion to spend all day going store to store looking for the perfect dress. On this particular time, my mom and I really searched everywhere. And nothing really was perfect. Some okay dresses here and there but nothing special. We then walked into Bloomies and started searching separately. When we reunited, we both had grabbed this same dress so we decided this was it. It has a satiny fabric so soft that just by touching it you'd want to wear it. I wore this to my cousin's bridal shower. Funny enough, all my cousins and aunts were wearing purple too. Hahah great minds think alike. I'll soon post another outfit from my weekend.

The best thing in the world is going shoe shopping. With my mom. We went to DSW and I was immediately overwhelmed by too many stunning shoes. I then settled for four pairs of shoes and my mom bought two pairs (so basically, I have 6 new pairs of shoes, haha). Everytime I go to DSW I am amazed by the savings. I will never buy shoes at department stores ever again when you can get them at DSW for sometimes half the price.

First up, Studded heels! Ahh I fell in love with them. They're from ZigiSoho. Aren't they gorgeous? I can't wait to pair them with a denim strapless dress I just got from Urban.

Next, these classy black suede Jessica Simpson heels. I've always wanted a pair like these. And the bow at the side just adds to the prettiness. They make me feel so ladylike.

Flower bows just get me crazy. And on beige suede heels (with snakeskin sole) I could just die. I had to pick up these Steve Madden Luxe heels. The flower bow is just the cutest thing ever.

Last, but definitely not least, I've been eyeing the YSL caged heels for over a year now. YSL being my favorite designer, I just love them. But of course I can't pay the 10 grand price. So when a friend told me they had exact copies at DSW I had to get a pair. I am still amazed at how identical they are to the real thing. The only difference is that the YSL heel is caged as well and these are block black.

I went to an art fair, exhibit, festival in my city today. Basically, if you're getting pretty famous as a photographer, painter, or just artist in general, you pay big bucks and can showcase your work. The place was filled so these artists did get tons of attention and will probably get a lot of buyers. I've been sick and it was pretty cold so I wore an aqua summer dress with a black blazer, leggings, and slouchy boots. Topped off with silver chains, hair in a knot ponytail and red lips. I felt I looked old. I purposely ordered a tall latte from the coffee booth to make myself look less childish. Bahah. Full outfit picture coming soon.

Recently, I went to a party meant to be Hollywood Night. So cliché, i know. Some girls dressed themselves as Megan Fox (with eyeliner Marilyn Monroe tattoos), Kat Von D, and the Olsen Twins. Guys just went as water and claimed to be Brad Pitt, etc. Nevertheless, I did not decide to dress up. Wisely, I chose to dress pop-art-esque to symbolize pop culture in Hollywood. Graphic top from Forever 21, Urban Outfitters skirt, Steve Madden heels. I arrived and to my surprise, I was supposed to be someone. I just wore a Rachel Bilson name tag. She would probably wear something of this sort.

Warped tour tragedy

So, I've been all over the place. But I wanted to focus this post on my experience at Warped Tour instead of explaining and rambling about how I'm so sorry I haven't posted. Anyways, so I went to warped tour with my friends.

And stupid me, trying to look hardcore and awesome, wore an American Apparel hippie band with a pop art shirt, juicy skinny jeans and ballet flats (smokey eye too). Turns out the sun decided to shine to its fullest on that day and without me realizing it, I got a hippie band tan. Trust me, its much worse than you imagine. It's a white line across my forehead.

(We took a picture with the drummer of Litchstein, look them up on Myspace, and yes, I am guilty of purchasing bootyshorts and wearing them,.. it was too hot)

On a happier note, I met John'O (the gorgeous singer of themaine)

and had so much fun.

summer slowly fades away

Yesterday was my school orientation. Its just so sad that school is less than a week away. I am so going to miss staying up until I just couldn't take it anymore, partying til 3 am, summer sleepovers, waking up late, hitting up the beach (sadly, no tan), vacationing in europe, and just plain relaxing. Seriously, summer is too short. I just get used to the idea of summer and then - oh school starts again. It sucks. Anyways, here's a summer outfit to keep you entertained :)

Brazilian Blowout

I am currently obsessed with my hair. I got the famous Brazilian Blowout that's been skyrocketing the beauty industry in my town. Basically what it is, is a vitamin infused shampoo and hairmask which combined with blowdrying and flat-iron straightening your hair between washes reduces frizz for about 2 months. I usually blow dry my hair in about 45 minutes. I straighten in over an hour. My hair is frizzy and curly and plenty! But with this blowout, my hair has gone from wavy to relaxed with zero frizz. And when I straighten it, it takes less than 20 minutes. Did I also mention my hair is shinier than ever?

Europe..

I ended up going to europe once again.. I just returned a couple of weeks ago. It was really a lot of fun. Nonetheless, it was extremely tiring and I was anxious to get home. Every day would typically consist of waking up, having breakfast, packing, loading the rented car with luggage, driving 3-4 hours to the next city and explore the villa. It was exhausting. However, I enjoyed it to the max and it will be a trip I will never forget.

Vienna

I must say Vienna is just simply beautiful. I fell in love with Vienna. There's this contemporary side to it and then theres gardens and rivers and old yet conserved buildings. Download the song Vienna by The Fray. I listened to it as we toured around in the car before arriving.

Prague

Words cannot describe how beautiful this little town is. I felt like I wias in a fairytale. The typical storybook escape I always fantasized. I could just hear Belle from Beauty in the Beast humming as she arranged her wonderful array of books in the houses I passed by.

Berlin

I loved Berlin. I would move there in a hearbeat. There is so much movement and the Germans are so gentle. The food is great as well.
Paris
I returned to Paris this same summer but I wasnt photogenic.

I was a bridesmaid (for my uncle's wedding). All my cousins and I were bridesmaids. It was fun but we had to wear the most plain dresses ever. And in flashy aqua! Everyone got to accessorize it however they wished which was great. I tried to keep it simple and classy, Coco Chanel style with pearls and gathered hair.

Here's just an update on what's going on since I stopped updating New York Doll. Moreover, an update on things I've been wearing.

This is what I wore to a friend's party. Dress and belt from Forever 21.

I wore this to my uncle's fiance's bridal shower. Black dress from Bebe. Steve Madden heels. BCBG Cardigan and Gifted headband.

This is me at my quince's! Dress from Karen Millen. The earrings were custom made for the dress and I wore Charles David nude heels (not pictured).

I used to have another blog originally called Principessa but later turned into New York Doll (wow I had really cheesy names) but now I am back and definitely determined to update frequently to improve my own style and become a member of the internet fashion world. But of course those were taken. Being an artist (or painter), I wanted to incorporate some of that into my blog because I might post pictures of my latest drawings or paintings, etc and just to make my blog more personal.
